First nights of the season 2007 - 2008

During the jubilee season (2007 - 2008)
the theatre has presented to onlookers four first nights.

The first one was an unusually colorful play "From Love to Hatred"  by N. Staritsky.
It tells about two young loving hearts and people’s craftiness, destroying lives.

The director, The Honored artist of Russia Vladimir Lyapichev has managed to give the performance philosophical depth. At first sight the play seems to be a love drama, has a great
idea of Faith.
If a human heart doesn’t have Love, Faith and God inside, there will settle distrust, anger, jealousy, and hatred.
Scene from performance FROM LOVE TU HATRED
The scene takes place in the small cossack village before Christmas. The audience can see Christmas ceremonies, hear Christmas folk song, Cossacks’ songs and chastooshkas (funny songs).
Unrestrained fun of young women and men, their songs, jokes, kolyadki, which you can hear from the first minutes of the play, remind us about Gogol’s "Night before Christmas". Only from the very first monologue it becomes clear how far this world is far from idyll. Young people face everlasting problems, which torture people’s souls for ages, and first of all the problem of choice between Good and Evil...

Another first night is a Christmas fairy tale
"Night when Angels sing... (Ночь, когда поют ангелы...)"  by L. Starodonskaya play.
It develops the declared at the beginning of the theater season theme of Faith.

The play, based on the Bible legend, tells us about Jesus’ birth, the Saviour. The action which happens on the stage gives a great, wonderful joy of Jesus’ Birth, in an amusing manner it tells about main human values. Communicating with children on the language they can understand, the play teachers them love, kindness, honesty, and faithfulness.

Every night, when a boy Ilusha falls asleep, a magic starts...
At night all his old beloved toys come to life and start talking. Funny and moving sheep, simple hearted donkey, and a serious calf feel serious anxiety that growing Ilysha doesn’t need them any more. (The toys are performed with youth ardour by young artists – students of the acting technique class of VGIIK under the direction of Honored Russian Artist Vladimir Lyapichev.)
The magic goes on: in a child room out of a snowstorm comes a white glittering Guardian Angel and tells awakening boy that he must save a newly born Jesus from Zar Irod, who wants to kill him…

Next first night was a production of a rock-opera "Pugachev (Пугачев)"
by the play of the same name by S. Esenin.

Scene from performance PUGACHEV

This daring and unique for our city project – is a long standing dream of an art director, of Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Lyapichev..
The Music for the rock-opera was written by a Volgograd composer, Honored culture worker Sergey Balakin.
Scene from performance PUGACHEV - Honored Artist of The Russian Federation Anatoly Trusov
A drama poem was created in 1921 and from the very beginning was meant for the theater. Moreover, Esenin’s rhythmic monologues are easily set to music, and this fact only underlines the spirit of heroism and need for freedom peculiar to this work.
Scene from performance PUGACHEV
The rock-opera recreates the most dramatic episodes of the peasants’ rebellion: when it only becomes mature, and when Pugachev decides to proclaim himself a Zar, and, in the end, the tragic minutes of ruin of all intentions, when Emelian is betrayed by his brothers-in-arms.

Last first night of a season - tragicomedy
"The person from a wardrobe (Человек из шкафа)" by A. Vinokurov play.
Director - of Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Lyapichev.

Scene from performance THE PERSON FROM A WARDROBE
In a base of a plot - little bit absurd event of a modern life of Russia. Under accompaniment of songs of Konstantin Nikolsky is shown the main theme of performance - loneliness of human soul in the world of people.
